Obituary

Brian R. Skrzypek, 56 of Wheatfield, NY passed away on Saturday August 31, 2013. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he is the son of Francis and Ruth (Hollingsworth) Skrzypek of the Town of Niagara, NY.

Brian was a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls area. He was a graduate of Niagara Wheatfield High School and later received his Bachelors Degree from the State University of New York at Geneseo. On June 26, 1982, Brian married Denise M. (King) Skrzypek at St. Margaret's Church in North Syracuse, NY. Brian was employed as the Director of Technology at TAM Ceramics in Niagara Falls. In his leisure time, he enjoyed camping and kayaking. Brian also had a love for the ocean and rock-n-roll music, and could often be seen playing his air guitar. He was an avid sports fan who especially liked basketball and hockey. Brian was also the vice president of Josh's Journey, a non for profit organization founded by him and his wife following the loss of their son Joshua. Above all, Brian loved spending time with his family and cooking for their gatherings.

In addition to his parents and wife of thirty one years, Brian is survived by his son Jaimie Skrzypek of Wheatfield, NY, and was predeceased by a son Joshua A. Skrzypek. He is also survived by three brothers, Michael (Beth) Skrzypek, Scott Skrzypek and Chris Skrzypek all of the Town of Niagara, NY as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 1-4 and 6-9 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL 2730 MILITARY ROAD NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Wednesday September 4th at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Vincent De Paul Parish at Prince of Peace Church 1055 North Military Road Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. James Fugle officiating. Interment will be held in Greenwood Cemetery Wilson, NY at the convenience of the family. If desired, memorial offerings may be made to Josh's Journey, A Foundation of Hope c/o SEFCU 3155 Niagara Falls Blvd. Amherst, NY 14228.
