Bruce W. Swain, 79, of Grand Island, NY, passed away on April 24, 2022 at Hospice of Buffalo in Cheektowaga, NY.  Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Charles W. and Patsy Jean (O'Rourke) Swain.

Bruce was a graduate of Trott Vocational High School.  He proudly served in the United States Army from 1964 until his honorable discharge in 1966. On February 15, 1969, he married Monica S. (Sahagian) Swain in Niagara Falls.  Bruce was employed for 33 years as a New York State Journeyman Machinist for General Motors in North Tonawanda until his retirement in 2004.  Bruce was an avid golfer, and enjoyed going to the casino.  A jack of all trades, he enjoyed building things and working around his home.  He will be remembered for his witty nature, and his love of his family and the time they shared together.

Bruce's family would like to thank the attentive and compassionate staff of Hospice of Buffalo to the care that they provided to him and their family.

In addition to his wife of 53 years, Bruce is survived by his sons, Bruce S. Swain and Paul C. Swain; his brother, Charles (Sue) Swain, as well as his sisters-in-law, Sandra Lohm, Sara Sahagian, and Tisha Sahagian, as well as by several nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was predeceased by his brother, Gary Swain, and his brother-in-law, Sammy Sahagian.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 29 from 2 – 6 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304, where funeral services will be held at 6 PM, concluding with Military Honors.  If desired, memorial offerings may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Hospice of Buffalo.  Visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
