Camelia A. Saba, 84 of Wheatfield, NY, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 15, 1933 in Akka, Palestine, the daughter of the late Assad and Labiba (Ghoros) Hawa.
Camelia worked as a teacher in Palestine before immigrating to the United States in 1977 to settle in Western New York. Along with her husband Elias Saba, a professor of math education at the University of Buffalo, she successfully owned and operated the Sands Motel, Travel Lodge and Coachman Inn located in Niagara Falls. Camelia was a longtime active and devoted member of Saint George Antiochian Orthodox Church as well as the Order of St. Ignatius of Antioch.
She was best known for her cooking, warm and loving heart, but above all, her love and devotion to her family, especially her grandchildren.
Camelia is survived by her husband of 60 years, Elias Saba, three children, Mona (Wael 'George') Bawab, Simon (Elsie) Saba and Rana Saba, seven grandchildren, Reema (George) Raya, Nadeen (Gino) Buzzelli, Elias, Nickolas, Joey, Alex and Nicholas, one brother, Kameel (Nihai) Hawa, one sister Clair (late Robert) Abdo, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church 1073 Saunders Settlement Road Niagara Falls, NY where funeral services will be held on Thursday November 9

at 10:30 a.m. Trisagion Prayers will begin on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. Memorial offerings may be made to St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church Cemetery Fund 1073 Saunders Settlement Road Niagara Falls, NY 14305.
