Carl‑Mack Litz, Sr., 79, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his adoring family, on the morning of July 18, 2026.
Born on May 29, 1947, Carl‑Mack dedicated his life to cherishing and protecting his family. In 1967, he married the love of his life, Linda M. (Sgroi) Litz, at Prince of Peace Church in Niagara Falls. He was employed for 20 years with the City of Niagara Falls Parks Department, retiring in 1995.
A man of boundless creativity, Carl‑Mack inspired both his family and community with his humor and deep love of the arts—drawing, painting, and coloring. A true jack‑of‑all‑trades, he never passed up an opportunity to be curious, inventive, or hands‑on. He was known for being a good talker and listener, always jolly, always giving, and always ready to brighten someone’s day.
Carl‑Mack proudly served as a Volunteer Firefighter with the Frontier Fire Hall, where he formed lifelong friendships and took great joy in playing Santa Claus for the children each year. His legacy of helping others will continue through the community he loved so deeply.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Linda; his children Christina Wilson and Carl‑Mack Jr. (Angela) Litz; his grandchildren Casarah (Sean McCarthy) Wilson, Justina (Valerie) Wilson, Jessica (Anthony) Paoletta, Alex Litz, Julie Wilson, and Brooklynn Litz; and his great‑grandchildren Brayden, Kaysen, and Brenna. He is also survived by the extended family and friends he cherished at the Frontier Fire Hall.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 23, from 3–5 PM at M.J. Colucci & Son Niagara Funeral Chapel, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304, where closing prayers will be offered at 5 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to the Niagara County SPCA at www.niagaraspca.org. Visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
Carl‑Mack’s memory will live on forever in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know and love him.
