Carl D. Maurer, Sr., 73, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on February 29, 2024 in the Town of Niagara under the care of Niagara Hospice.  Born in Philipsburg, PA, he was the son of the late Jennings and Dorothy (Myers) Maurer.

Carl came to the area as a child with his family. He served proudly in the United States Army from 1971 until his honorable discharge in 1973. Carl was employed for over 20 years at Metal Cladding Inc. in Lockport, NY until his retirement in 2014.  He enjoyed golfing and spending time with his dog, King.  Above all, Carl cherished the time he spent with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Carl is survived by his son, Carl D. (Staci Arnold and her son Preston) Maurer, Jr.; his grandchildren, Justin Koch and Jeremy Maurer; his great-grandchildren, Atticus and Jewelles; his siblings, Carol (late Ralph) Skirlin, Richard (Terri) Maurer, and Gerald (Michelle) Maurer, as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. He was sadly predeceased by his son, Joseph A. Maurer.

Interment with Military Honors will be held privately at the convenience of Carl's family in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, 5871 Military Road, Lewiston, NY 14092. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY.
