Carmela Anne Farina, 97, of New Port Richey, FL passed away at Gulfside Hospice on March 24, 2026. Carmela "Mel" was born in Niagara Falls, NY on December 6, 1928 to Antoinette and Vincent Morinello. She graduated of Niagara Falls High School and Niagara County Community College.

Carmela married Michael and together they had two children, Bridget (Farina) Polowniak and Anthony Farina. Carmela and Michael were the original owners of Michael's Restaurant located on Pine Avenue in Niagara Falls, NY. In addition, she worked for the City of Niagara Falls Parks Department as an administrative secretary. In her later years, she volunteered at the Pinellas County hospice office.

Carmela is survived by her children, Bridget (John) Polowniak and Anthony Farina; two grandchildren, Michael and Tiffany Farina, and her sister, Rosalie (Morinello) O'Neil. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Michael; and two siblings, Angelo Morinello and Vincenette Ryan. 

A Mass will be held at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Dunedin, FL in her memory at a later date. Private interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. No memorial donations are desired.
