Carmella E. (Sgroi) Bennett, 90, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on November 17, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her family while under the care of Niagara Hospice.  Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Sarah (Tripoli) Sgroi.

Carmella enjoyed Bingo, going to the casino, and trying her luck with scratch off lottery tickets.  Above all, she lived a very full life and was extremely dedicated to her family, centering her life around her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Carmella is survived by her daughters, Michelle (Henry) Saenz, Madonna (Robert) Rinehart, Sherry (Michael) Mercuri, and Lynette (Patrick) Needle; her grandchildren, Brianna (Nick) Maietta, Rudy Saenz, Henry Saenz, Jr., Gia (Mitch) Saenz, Danielle (Jason) Houck, James (Michelle) DeLong, Jamee Rinehart, Anthony (Jillian) Bennett, Christine (Jared) Wagner, Stephanie (Nickolas) Wagner, Megha (Elena) Mercuri, Amanda (Reed) Seymour, Kara (Charles) Mercuri, Angeline (James) Pierson, Antonio (Deanna) DiFranco, Karen Needle, and Raymond Needle; her great-grandchildren, Lorenzo, Carmella, Samuel, Audriana, Tyler, Elizabeth, Ethan, Mya, Nikole, Gracie, Aidan, Gabriella, Mia, Lillianna, Mariana, Milania, Mattea, and Santino; her sisters, Rose Sgroi, Vita (late George) Husanian, Connie (Ronald) Wilson, Linda (Carl) Litz, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was predeceased by her great-granddaughter, Maria, as well as her siblings, Jennie Sgroi, Susanne (late Antonio) Fustes, James Sgroi, and Michael (Carmelita) Sgroi.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Niagara Hospice, especially her nurses April and Emily, for the care and compassion shown to their beloved mother.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 25 from 2 – 6 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304, where funeral services will begin at 6 PM.  Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY, will be held at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice.  Visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
