Carmella A. (Scrivano) Destino, 89, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at Schoellkopf Health Care Facility in Niagara Falls, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late Frank and Virginia (Granada) Scrivano.

Carmella was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls and attended local schools. On October 18, 1947 she married James J. Destino at St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls. She was predeceased by him on February 10, 1972. Carmella was employed by DiCamillo's Bakery and worked in the office of their Gourmet Department. She loved to cook and bake but most of all, Carmella enjoyed spending time with her family.

Carmella is survived by eight children Mary Lou (late Robert) Barends of Lewiston, NY; Joseph (Grace) Destino of the Town of Niagara; John Destino of Niagara Falls, Thomas (Kimberly) Destino of Town of Wheatfield, Michael (Cecelia) Destino, Louis (Darice) Destino both of Niagara Falls, NY; Kathleen (David) Amato of Golden, CO, and Frank (Francine) Destino of Ransomville, NY and was predeceased by one son James L. (Eileen of Woodbridge, CT) Destino. She is also survived by twenty eight grandchildren, twenty nine great grandchildren, one brother Michael (Loretta) Scrivano of Niagara Falls, NY and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by a grandson, Robert James Barends; five sisters Phyllis Fazzolari, Theresa Marano, Jenny Viscomi, Vera Penque, Josephine Boccanera and two brothers Anthony Scrivano and Sam Scrivano.

Visitation will be on Wednesday June 3rd from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 4th at 12:00 p.m. Noon at St.Vincent
De Paul Parish at Prince of Peace Church, 1055 North Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.
