Carmelo Primerano, 77, of Niagara Falls, NY died on Saturday August 8, 2009 while surrounded by his family at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY. Born in Vallelonga-Catanzaro, Calabria, Italy he was the son of the late Stefano and Domenica (Pileggi) Primerano.

Carmelo was educated in Italy and emmigrated to the United States in the 1950's. He worked as a master caprenter and furniture maker and was a member of the Carpenter's Union in Niagara Falls, NY. One of Carmelo's favorite pastimes was cooking. He also enjoyed travelling to visit his relatives in Italy, and was known for his great sense of humor. He was also very supportive of many religious and civic organizations.

Mr. Primerano is survived by four children Stefano "Steve" Primerano of Miami, FL, Francesco "Frank" Primerano of Williamsville, NY, Bruno (Irma) Primerano of Deltona, FL, and Antonietta "Antoniette" (James) Polito (Duckworth) of Wheatfield, NY; ten grandchildren, Steve, Carla, Ron, Rick, Katrina, Sofia, and Antonio Primerano, Michael, Vincent Daniels, and Joseph Allen, one great-grandchild Isabella Daniels, his former wife Carmela (Iadicicco) Primerano; four sisters Maria (Graziano) Iearullo, Lina (late Salvatore) Samo, Rose (Vincenzo) Pellicci, Severina (Mario) Cosentino; one brother Armando (Raffaela) Primerano, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also predeceased by a sister Felicia (late Nicolo) Pileggi.

Friends may call on Monday August 10th from 4 - 8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will immediately follow at 8:00 p.m. Private interment will be held in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094-1231.
