Obituary

Carol Ann Goodwin (Fehringer), 84, of Niagara Falls, New York passed way peacefully on Friday, July 21, 2023. She was the loving mother of Richard 'Rick' G. Goodwin Jr. (Teresa Goodwin née Grossi) and Sharon L. Palmer née Goodwin; devoted Partner of Donald Kimmer; loving grandmother of Jaclyn Dimino née Palmer (Josh Dimino), Stefanie Binecki née Goodwin (Jeremy Binecki), Julianne Casilio née Palmer (Sean Casilio), Andrew Goodwin, and Kimberly Goodwin (Michael Saunders); loving great-grandmother of Landon Dimino, Eden Dimino, Brody Casilio, Owen Casilio, and Zane Binecki; sister of Thomas Fehringer Jr. (Dale Fehringer née Barthin); proud aunt of Jason Fehringer, Heather Fehringer-Flynn (Calder Flynn), and Laura Soko née Fehringer (Trevor Soko). She will also be missed by her loving dog, Lily.

Carol Ann was born on May 16, 1939 in Buffalo, NY. She moved to Fox Lake, Illinois as a child where she then fell in love and moved to Germany as a military spouse. She learned tenacity and resilience as she raised a young son in a foreign country, and several years later relocated to Hampton, Virginia where she proudly welcomed her daughter into the world. Carol earned a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting at Niagara University and proudly completed business school while single-handedly raising and supporting her family.

After completing her education, Carol dedicated 19 years to Carborundum/ Washington Mills as an Accountant. Aside from work, she greatly enjoyed music and the arts and volunteered as an Usher at Shea's Performing Arts Center for many years. She was also a lifelong Buffalo Bills fan and volunteered in the concession stands of Ralph Wilson Stadium during the 1990s to catch as many games as possible.

In retirement, Carol Ann found joy working with her daughter and granddaughters at Jaclyn Carol's Dance Academy and spending time with the young dancers and their families. She adored watching all the dancers at recital, never missing a single show.

She lived for her family and loved supporting the endeavors of all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren, a favorite at youth sporting events, theatre productions, recitals and concerts. She was known as Grandma Carol to family and friends alike and was everyone's biggest fan.

Her larger-than-life personality and sharp sense of humor are unforgettable to all who met and knew her.
