Carol J. (Duxbury) Horner, 78 of Niagara Falls, NY, went home to have a banquet with Jesus on Saturday September 3, 2011 in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Born in Wilson, NY she was the daughter of the late John 'J.D.' Duxbury and Alice (Cheffler) Duxbury, and step-daughter of the late Bernice Duxbury.

For twenty seven years, Carol was employed as the head chef at the former St. Mary's Manor in Niagara Falls, NY. She also volunteered as a bartender at the American Legion Frederick F. Cadille Post 1664 in Niagara Falls, and was a lifetime member of their Ladies Auxiliary. Carol will be remembered for her persona and love. She was known by everyone as 'Mom' and as 'Cookies Grandma' to all the children. In her leisure time, Carol enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casino.

Mrs. Horner was predeceased by her husband Haymond Lee Horner on October 6, 1988. She is survived by her six children; Steven (Linda) Horner, Gary (Rita) Horner, Andy Horner, Jeffrey (Kim) Horner, Susan (Dennis) Winchell and Wendy (Chuck) Ferguson, sixteen grandchildren, twenty six great-grandchildren, one sister, Wanda (Bill) Taylor, four brothers, Allen Eggert, Billy (Gail) Duxbury, Duane (Pam) Duxbury and Curtis (Carol) Duxbury as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-8:30 p.m. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON FUNERAL CHAPEL 468 19TH STREET NIAGARA FALLS, NY where services will follow at 8:30 p.m.. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Wilson, NY will be held at the convenience of the family.
