Carole S. (Gilbert) D'Anna 64 of Niagara Falls, NY lost her 7 year battle with multi-system Atrophy Friday December 9, 2011 in the Highlands at Brighton Nursing Facility, Rochester, NY. Born in Welch, WV she was the daughter of the late Logan Gilbert and Lois (Gilbert) Luciano of Niagara Falls, NY.

Carole moved from West Virginia to Niagara Falls at the age of 2. She attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. She married her husband of 46 years Vincent J. D'Anna at St. Joseph's Church, NF, NY in 1965. Carole worked as a dietary attendant for Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center for 27 years retiring in 2004.

Carole loved horses and enjoyed going to Ft Erie, Woodbine and Saratoga race tracks. She also enjoyed attending country concerts and watching the Buffalo Sabres games on TV but her greatest love was spending time with her husband and grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and mother Carole is survived by her dear son Russell (Louise) D'Anna of Niagara Falls, NY; grandchildren Jessica and Vincent D'Anna; four brothers and four sisters; Sharon Shakarjian, Bill Gilbert, Linda Cantera, Larry (Donna) Gilbert, Donna (Serge) Perrier, Ronald Gilbert, Kendall Gilbert and Lisa Rowland. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a nephew Michael Berds.

Visitation will be held MONDAY from 4 – 9 PM at the M.J.COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL 2730 MILITARY ROAD NIAGARA FALLS, NY where Funeral services will begin TUESDAY December 13th at 9:15AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Vincent de Paul Parish at Prince of Peace Church, 1055 N. Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Entombment will follow in Riverdale cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
