Carrie A. Altizer, 51, of Grand Island, NY, passed away on September 20, 2026 at Mercy Hospital of Buffalo. Born in Buffalo, NY, she was the beloved daughter of Lois Susan (Deuble) (Ed) Asbach and Michael L. (Shelley) Altizer.

Carrie was a graduate of Lewiston‑Porter High School. For over 25 years, she worked as a dedicated Kitchen Staff Member for several Western New York restaurants, most notably Mariner’s Landing in Olcott, NY. She was deeply respected and loved by her coworkers and the ownership of every establishment she served. Her work ethic, kindness, and joyful spirit made her a treasured presence in every kitchen she stepped into.

Carrie loved ice skating and roller blading and was an active participant in SABAH. One of her favorite activities while traveling was “touring.” She had an affinity for the color red, enjoyed bonfires and s’mores, sunbathing, playing Scrabble and board games, and watching Wheel of Fortune. Carrie enjoyed riding her horse, Rusty, and time spent at “Hills Stable.” She was always eager to join in any adventure and carried a kind, joke‑telling personality that made others feel uplifted. She liked to stay active and was always willing to lend a hand to help others. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family, especially her nieces and nephews, who brought her immeasurable joy.

In her childhood, Carrie and her family attended the Church of God where her spiritual life began. More recently, she has been a beloved member at First Assembly of God (The Bridge).

In addition to her mother, step‑father, father, and step‑mother, Carrie is survived by her siblings, Michelle (David) Tongue and Nicholas Altizer (Sarah Anderson); her nieces and nephews, Lilly, Griffin, Murphy, Lydia, Asher, Caleb, and Baby Girl on the way; her paternal grandparents, Hubert (Virginia) Altizer; as well as many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, step-relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Carl and Lois Deuble.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 25, from 2 – 5 PM at M.J. Colucci & Son Niagara Funeral Chapel, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304, where funeral services will begin at 5 PM. Private interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Wilson, NY, will be held at the convenience of the family.
