Carrie (DiDomizio) Chiodo, 84, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, OH. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Gaetano and Nunziata 'Nancy' (Malvestuto) DiDomizio.
Carrie was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY. She attended local schools and graduated from the former Trott Vocational High School. She married her loving husband, Paul C. Chiodo on September 8, 1951 in Niagara Falls. Carrie was employed at the former Niesner's and Kimberly Clark Corporation in Niagara Falls, and afterwards the Red Coach Inn as the executive housekeeper. Carrie was a longtime member of the Forestview Church of God, and a former member of the Walnut Avenue Church of God choir. Mrs. Chiodo was a devoted homemaker, who enjoyed cooking, baking and entertaining at her home for family and friends. She was also an avid sports fan and particularly liked the New York Yankees, Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres.
In addition to her husband of 62 years, Mrs. Chiodo is survived by her children, Barbara (Richard) Ferchen of Niagara Falls, NY, Paul G. Chiodo of the Town of Niagara, NY and Dr. Christopher C. (Vanessa) Chiodo of Las Vegas, NV; two grandchildren, Noelle and Natalia Chiodo; two sisters, Loretta (late George) LoStracco of Florida and Susie (late Peter) Malinverni of Niagara Falls, NY, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Carrie was also predeceased by nine siblings, Lena (late Peter) Piccolo, Helen (late Doc) Foster, Eva DiDomizio, Dan (late Sue) DiDomizio, Adam "Domo" (Wilma of Indiana) DiDomizio,Dolly Gabriele (late Joe)Munzi, Dominick (late Gladys) Molinaro, Natale 'Chris' (late Mabeth) DiDomizio and Sam (late Levia) DiDomizio.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 3rd from 4 – 8 P.M. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY where funeral services will begin on Thursday, September 4th at 9:45 A.M. followed at 10:30 A.M. in the Forestview Church of God, 1250 Saunders Settlement Road, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Ronald Maines officiating. Entombment will follow in Riverdale Cemetery Lewiston, NY.
