Catherine R. (Acito) Lill, 88, formerly of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Friday, September 16, 2011at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston, NY. She was born in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of the late Daniel and Mary (Muscarella) Acito.

Catherine attended local schools and graduated from both Niagara Falls High School and Trott Vocational High School. On September 22, 1945 she married Sylvester "Babe" Lill at Sacred Heart Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Mr. Lill predeceased her on October 13, 1998. Prior to her marriage she was employed at the former Carborundum Co. briefly until she resigned to raise her family. She had a long career as a homemaker and later worked as a cashier at Tops Supermarkets for many years until her retirement. Catherine was an excellent baker and cook and an avid bowler who always looked forward to bowling with the girls on the Tuesday Morning Ladies Bowling League. She also loved to play cards, especially poker and euchre.

Catherine is survived by two children, Thomas (Barbara) Lill of Chino, CA and Deborah A. Lill of Niagara Falls, NY; two grandchildren, Mark Goodwin and Lisa (Kenny) Smith both of Niagara Falls, NY; two great-grandchildren Zachery and Jordyn and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Mary (late John) Murdock and Frances (late Patsy) Calarco.

There will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday September 20th at 10:00 A.M. at St. Stephen's Church, 2100 Baseline Road, Grand Island, NY with Rev. Paul Nogaro, O.M.N. officiating. Interment in St. Stephen's Cemetery, Grand Island, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O.
