Catherine 'Kay' (Tamburrino) Porreca, 90 of Grand Island, NY, formerly of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Monday March 21, 2011 in Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Vincenzo 'Vincent' and Madelena (Spendio) Tamburrino.

Kay was a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls, NY area. She attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. On July 27, 1946, she married John S. Porreca at St. Joseph's Church in Niagara Falls. He predeceased her on March 31, 1999. Kay worked in sales at the former Mac Friedman Clothing Store, and in the accounting department of the former Wallen's Men's Wear both in Niagara Falls. She later worked as a secretary in the accounting department of Occidental Chemical Corp. in Grand Island, NY until her retirement in 1983. Kay was also a member of the Occidental Chemical Corp retirement club. Above all, Kay centered her life around her family.

Mrs. Porreca is survived by her three children, Catherine (Frank) Colucci of Grand Island, NY, Carmen V. (Lisa) Porreca and JoAnne (David) Rayner both of Atlanta, GA, two grandchildren, Cara (Michael) Gardner and Andrew Patrick Porreca, one great-grandson Tyler Gardner and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by one sister, Mary (Carmen of Niagara Falls, NY) Luna and one brother Salvatore (Lillian of Niagara Falls, NY) Tamburrino.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI AND SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL 2730 MILITARY ROAD NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday March 25th at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph Church 1413 Pine Ave. Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Duane Klizek officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment will be held in St. Joseph's Cemetery Niagara Falls, NY. Flowers are graciously declined.
