Catherine J. (Rosso) Renda, 80, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away Sunday March 6, 2011 at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY. Born and educated in Cannes, France she was the daughter of the late Andre and Ermelinde (Meannucci) Rosso.
Catherine moved to the United States with her family in the early 1950's. On May 22, 1954 she married Albert A. Renda in St. John de LaSalle Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Mr. Renda predeceased her on September 30, 2009. Catherine was an avid bowler and competed in various leagues in the Niagara Falls area. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and their family gatherings. Catherine centered her life on her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Renda is survived by three children Robin C. (Peter) Paella of Lewiston, NY; Peter A. (late Susan) Renda of Springdale, AR and Larry J. Renda (Angela Johnson) of North Tonawanda, NY and was predeceased by one son Charles C. Renda. Survivors also include eight grandchildren Jed Renda, Seth Renda, Danielle (Bernard) Lucantonio, Catherine (John) Brown, Anita (Ryan) Kellogg, Briana (Jason) Stiles, Anna (Ed) Hahn, Lawrence (fiancé Kirsten Rogers) Renda, and the late Cody (Sally) Renda; seven great grandchildren Morgan, Eddie, Joshua, Nicholas, Jake, Cooper, and Hadley; three sisters Marie Therese (Gus) Heinrich of The Villages, FL, Maby (late Claude) Hannequart, Bernadette Bertrand both of Nice, France and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a sister and two brothers Charlotte (late Jacques) LeFebvre, Joseph Rosso, and Felix Rosso.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. at the M.J.COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Wednesday March 9th at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Duane Klizek officiating. Entombment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY.
