Catherine J. (Maturani) Schotz, 55, of Lewiston, NY passed away on Thursday, October 7, 2010 while on vacation in Hershey, PA. Born in Niagara Falls, she was daughter of the late Patsy and Ida (Chiono) Maturani.

Catherine was raised in Niagara Falls and graduated from the former LaSalle Senior High School. In 1985 she married Michael J. Schotz in Hawaii and resided in Lewiston since then. For more than ten years she was employed as the Secretary to the Director of the Niagara Falls Convention Center, and prior to that she worked at the LaSalle branch of Marine Midland Bank in Niagara Falls. In her younger years, Catherine enjoyed athletics, especially biking. She was also an avid Buffalo Sabres fan and collector of Hallmark ornaments, stoneware crocks and decorative tins. Catherine also loved animals, in particular her beloved dogs, Natasha, Ciera and Player.

In addition to her beloved husband, Catherine is survived by her sister, Teresa (Richard) Lucinski of Grand Island and was predeceased by a sister, Rosemary Niccola. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Danielle Niccola, Kristina (Jeff) Beck, Michael (Megan) Lucinski and Steven Lucinski, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, great-nephews and a great-niece.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI AND SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL 2730 MILITARY ROAD NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Wednesday October 13th at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Vincent de Paul Parish at Prince of Peace Church, 1055 North Military Road Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Robert Hughson officiating. Interment will be held in St. Joseph's Cemetery Niagara Falls, NY.
