Chester A. Kevorkian, 80, of Niagara Falls, NY died on Wednesday July 28, 2010. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late George and Josephine (Zwerski) Ostrowski Kevorkian.
Chester was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls and attended local schools. During World War II he serviced in the United States Army from May 31, 1946 until his honorable discharge on November 1, 1946 and was awarded the World War II Victory Medal. He later enlisted in the United States Navy on April 26, 1946 and was honorably discharge on December 30, 1948. Chester was employed at various manufacturing and production companies in Niagara Falls including the, Carborundum Co., Hooker Chemical Corp. Electro Metallurgical Div., Varcum Chemical Co., International Paper Mill, Frontier Bronze Co.; Pyron Corporation, Autolite Battery Co.; Non Ferrous Foundry as well as various other businesses all in Niagara Falls, NY.
Chester is survived by his loving companion Linda J. Nelson of Niagara Falls, NY, and her children, Charles (Jennifer Giorgianni) Jaehn, Raymond Jaehn both of Niagara Falls, NY and Linda (Joseph) Goscinski of Rochester, NY. He was also predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Walter Ostrowski, Bruno Ostrowski, Edward Ostrowski, Stella Odrzywolski, Helen Odrzywolski and infant Stanley Ostrowski.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 9-10 a.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON FUNERAL CHAPEL, 468 19TH STREET, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will follow at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Duane Klizek officiating. Interment with Military Honors will be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston NY.
