Chester V. Rizzo, 92, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Wednesday, August 12th at home while under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born in Ramsaytown, PA he was the son of the late Luigi and Antonia (Capizzi) Rizzo.
Chester attended local schools and graduated from the former Trott Vocational High School in Niagara Falls. During World War II he served in the U.S. Army and on January 24, 1948 he married Angela (Mihich) Rizzo at Sacred Heart Church in Niagara Falls. Chester was employed as a machinist at E.I. DuPont Co. in Niagara Falls for thirty six years until he retired in 1982. Chester was a member of the Niagara Travel Social Club. He and his wife especially loved spending their winters in Daytona Beach, FL.
In addition to his wife of sixty seven years, Chester is survived by two children Michael (Joann) Rizzo of East Aurora, NY and Donna (Ralph) Blenn of Morgan Hill, CA; five grandchildren Natalie Taylor, Adria Kempler, Mark Blenn, Lisa Miceli and Michelle Grossklaus; six great grandchildren; one brother Joseph Rizzo of Niagara Falls, NY; one sister Julia Delmonte of Niagara Falls, NY and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters and one brother.
Visitation will be on Monday from 4 – 8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday August 18th at 11 a.m. at St. Vincent De Paul at Prince of Peace Church, 1055 North Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Jeff Nowak officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Entombment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
