Christine Tamburrino Barber, 48, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away Saturday July 11, 2009 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Born in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of Lillian (Mattuccilli) Tamburrino of Niagara Falls, NY and the late Salvatore "Sam" Tamburrino. On April 29, 1989 she married Robert E. Barber in St. Joseph Church, Niagara Falls, NY.
Christine was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls. She attended local schools and was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School and Niagara University where she earned her bachelor's degree in Computer and Information Science. In her early years, Christine worked at Hyde Park Golf Course and later Tops Markets, both in Niagara Falls, NY. In 1985, she began her career at Niagara University, where she was currently the Assistant Director of Financial Aid. Christine was truly dedicated to her job. She was a diligent worker, and respected by her colleagues. She was also a member of the Italian Sons and Daughters of America Volare Lodge in Niagara Falls, NY. Most importantly, Christine's life centered on her family, and was actively involved in her children's school and sporting activities.
In addition to her mother and her husband of twenty years, Christine is survived by three children, Nina Christine Barber, Salvatore Antonio Barber, and Gina Christine Barber all of Niagara Falls, NY; two sisters Antoinette DiBellonia and Vincenette Tamburrino, both of Lewiston, NY; her godchildren Mark Tamburrino and Alexandria DiBellonia as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Christine was the sister-in-law of Frank (Michelle) Barber of North Tonawanda, NY and Marcia (Terrance) Jones of Rochester, NY.
Friends may call on Monday from 4 – 8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL 2730 MILITARY ROAD NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday July 14th at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Ave. Niagara Falls, NY. EVERYONE WILL ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Entombment will be held in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
