Christopher A. McDonnell, 60, of the Town of Porter passed away on Monday, September 19, 2016 at his residence. Born in Glasgow, Scotland he was the son of the late Christopher and Anne (Keith) McDonnell and stepson of Linda McDonnell.

Christopher served in the U.S. Navy from November 12, 1975 until his honorable discharge on July 23, 1981. Following his discharge, Christopher continued to serve in the U.S. Army National Gard for several years. In 1989 he married Katrina (Janicki) McDonnell at St. Leo's Church in the Town of Niagara. He was employed as an O.R. Technician at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, NY until he retired due to his illness. Several years ago he worked at N.F. Memorial Medical Center. Chris enjoyed camping and loved animals, especially his dogs. He had a kind heart and was always willing to help anyone in need.

In addition to his wife and step mother, Christopher is survived by one sister Julie McDonnell; mother-in-law Dorothy Janicki; brother-in law Keith Janicki, loving nephews, Zachary and Sean McFarland, as well as several other cousins and extended family throughout the United States, Scotland, England and Australia. He was predeceased by his sister Norah McDonnell.

There will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday September 26th at 11 a.m. at St. Bernard Church, 218 Hinman Street, Youngstown, NY.
