Civita 'Tina' (Signore) Giaquinto, 83 of Niagara Falls, NY passed away at her residence on October 20, 2016 while under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born in Minturno, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Gerardo and Giovanna (Corrente) Signore.
Tina was raised and educated in Italy. On October 3, 1960, she married Pasquale 'Patsy' Giaquinto in Minturno, and together they immigrated to the United States in 1962 to settle in Niagara Falls. Mr. Giaquinto predeceased her on November 29, 2006. Tina worked at the former Nabisco Shredded Wheat Company, as well as the C'est la vie Restaurant and La Hacienda Restaurant. Tina was a marvelous cook, and was especially known for her famous pizzas. She was also a lifetime member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Niagara Falls. Above all, Tina's greatest pleasure was spending time with her family.
Mrs. Giaquinto is survived by her four children, Joseph (D'Anna) Giaquinto, Mary Giaquinto Falsetti, Katia (Brian) Sarokon and Paola Giaquinto, eight grandchildren, Bianca, Angelina, Francesca, Sofia, Christina, Nico, Matteo and Isabella, a sister Angela Rampini of Italy, as well as many loving nieces, nephews and cousins in Toronto and Italy. She was also predeceased by two brothers, Mario Signore, Pietro Signore and a sister Maria Rasile.
Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:30 – 11:15 a.m. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin at 11:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon at Holy Family Parish at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church 27th Street and Independence Ave. Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Duane Klizek officiating. Entombment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.
