Clara V. Besaw 98, of Youngstown, NY, passed away peacefully at home on December 29, 2024.  Born in Canton, NY she was the daughter of the late William and Bernice (Riley) Briggs.

Clara married Gilbert A. Besaw on October 28, 1947.  They shared homes in Canton, NY and Niagara Falls, NY before settling in Lewiston, NY in 1962.  Mr. Besaw predeceased her on October 5, 1994.   Her legacy is the love she instilled in all of her family members.

Clara is survived by her five children, Kathy (Lee) Hudson, Karla (Chuck) Gaston, Kevin (Nancy) Besaw, Kelly (Kim) Besaw and Kerry (Becky) Besaw; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a sister, Carolyn (Jerry) Maloney, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was predeceased by her grandson Gregory Hudson and four siblings.

A private family graveside service and interment in Crary Mills, NY will be held at the convenience of the family.  Memorial offerings may be made to Lewiston Fire Co. #1, 145 N. 6th Street, Lewiston, NY 14092 or Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.  Arrangements by M.J.
