Clare L. (Dent) Michaels, 89, of Lewiston, NY, formerly of the Town of Niagara, NY, passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late Miles Barton and Margaret Louise (Larsen) Dent.

Clare was a lifelong resident of the Niagara area and attended local schools. She was a devoted homemaker who loved gardening and decorating her home. She also enjoyed traveling and was an avid reader. Above all, Clare enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters.

Mrs. Michaels was predeceased by her husband Edward P. "Eddie" Michaels, Sr. on August 28, 2013. She is survived by her three sons, David C. (Kathy) Michaels of Olcott, NY, Edward P. Michaels, Jr. and William G. (Lisa) Michaels both of Lewiston, NY; two granddaughters, Olivia and Jessika Michaels; two sisters Elizabeth (late William) Michaels of Grand Island, NY and Henrietta Marie (late Derwood) Reachkoff of North Carolina; one brother Jerry (late Louise) Dent of Florida, her loving godchildren Heidi and Holly, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by two brother,s Lauritz (late Ann) Dent and Bartin (late Ada) Dent.

Visitation will be held on Sunday from 12 – 3 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday January 25th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter's RC Church, 620 Center Street, Lewiston, NY with Msgr. David LiPuma officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Entombment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
