Clarence William Cook was born in Greenville, Alabama to Winford and Verta Bell Cook.  He was the second of their nine children. He was lovingly known as "Brother" by his mom, "Chief" by some of his siblings, "Poppy" by Renee, "Big Daddy" by his grandchildren, great grandchildren,  numerous friends and family members, and "Son" by his beloved Mother-in-law Rosie Drake whom he loved as a second mother.  He lived in Alabama until he was 17 years old.  He married Cora Lee (Drake) Cook on March 24, 1951.  Shortly thereafter the two soon moved to Niagara Falls, New York.

After settling in New York, Clarence gained employment at a variety of companies.  He worked as furnace operator at the Union Carbide Corporation,  a laborer at National Carbon, a driller at the Niagara Mohawk Power Project, a detailer, and later a painter at Hallman's Chevrolet.  He later gained employment at Genesee Brewing Company in Rochester, New York.  He worked at the Brewing Company as a machine operator and trainer for new hires.  He worked there for 35 years until he retired in 1995.

In addition to his family, Clarence loved cooking, hunting, fishing, gardening, and vacationing.

Clarence is survived by his wife Cora, his son William Cook, his two daughters Gloria Zeigler and Renee Cook-King (Mark), his grand and great grandchildren, his sister Bobbie Matthews (Levi), his brother Grady Cook, and his brother-in-law Clarence McDowell and a host of nieces and nephews and many other family members and friends.  Four sisters and two brothers preceded him in death,  Johnnie McDowell, Elizabeth Solomon, Mary Lois Aaron, Alice Burnett,  John and Arthur Cook.
