Clarence L. Hayes, 58, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on January 15, 2014 at Buffalo General Hospital. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Clarence Lewis Hayes and Lois Marable of Brooklyn, NY.
Clarence graduated from Kenmore High School and went on to receive an Associate's Degree in Ministry from Houghton College. Clarence belonged to various church groups at the Potter's House Christian Community Church, including the 'Men of Praise' and the Gospel 5. He had an extreme passion for music and was best known as, "D.J. Jocko" to all. Clarence was a recipient of multiple hero awards for rescuing a man from a burning vehicle, as well as rescuing a lady from a burning house on two separate occasions. Above all, Clarence was a loving, family oriented man who centered his life around his children.
In addition to his mother, Clarence is survived by his companion Ada Hayes; twelve children, Geneva Tucker, Cynthia Tucker, Clarence Tucker, Regina Tucker, Laureen Hayes, April Hayes, Cheryl Hayes-Johnson, Yvonne Hayes, Francine Hayes, Clarisse Hayes, Renee Hayes and Jasmine Hayes; twenty six grandchildren; two great-grandsons; one brother, Michael Marable; one sister, Leona Marable; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one brother, Douglas Marable.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 23rd from 5 – 6 P.M. at the Potter's House Christian Community Church, 723 Seventh Street, Niagara Falls, NY where funeral services will immediately follow at 6 P.M. with Bishop Stephen Booze officiating. Interment in Forest Green Park, Morganville, NJ.
