Claudia S. (Oakes) Maiello, 58, of Sanborn, NY went into the loving arms of Our Lord on Sunday March 1, 2009. Born in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late John and Hazel L. (Stancliff) Oakes. On May 25, 1973 she married Michael A. Maiello in Lewiston, NY.

Claudia attended local schools and was a graduate of Trott Vocational High School in Niagara Falls, NY. She worked as a licensed practical nurse in the pediatric department at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Claudia previously worked in various retail stores in the Niagara Falls area. She enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable garden, but the most important aspect of her life was her family. Claudia especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, who affectionately called her "Baba".

In addition to her husband of thirty-five years, Mrs. Maiello is survived by her daughter Lori M. (Jeff) Haseley of Sanborn, NY; two grandchildren Timothy and Julia; a sister Beverly (Andrew) Ligammari of The Villages, FL; her aunt Marge Oakes of Ransomville, NY and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by one sister Margaret 'Peggy' Warrick.

Friends may call Tuesday from 4 – 8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will be held Wednesday March 4th at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Bruce Gamache officiating. Interment in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
