Constantine "Connie" Manuse, 93, of Youngstown, NY died on Friday November 5, 2010 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Buffalo, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Serafino and Concetta (Disclafini) Manuse.
Connie attended local schools and was a lifelong resident of the Niagara County area. During World War II he served in the U.S. Army from September 11, 1941 until his honorable discharge on December 16, 1946 and received his training at Ft. Niagara in Youngstown, NY. On June 4, 1960 he married Maria (Battaglia) Manuse at St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Connie was a co-owner of Manuse-Winchester Construction in Youngstown, NY, the builders of many area residences and The Villa Apartments as well as other nearby construction jobs, until he retired in the late 1980's. He was very artistic and in his leisure time he enjoyed painting and doing cross stitch. Connie will be remembered by his family and friends as a quiet and caring person.
In addition to his wife of fifty years, Mr. Manuse is survived by four children Joseph (Katie) Manuse of Madison, WI; Paul Manuse of Youngstown, NY; Robert (Magda) Manuse of Madison, WI and Elizabeth (fiancé Tom Nowakowski) Manuse of Youngstown, NY; three grandchildren Eva, Miles and Isaac, one sister Lucy (late Vincent) Napoleon of Youngstown, NY and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers and one sister.
There will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday November 12th at 11:30 a.m. at St. Bernard's Church, 218 Hinman Street, Youngstown, NY with Msgr. J. Thomas Moran officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment with Military Honors in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers, Mass offerings in Connie's name would be greatly appreciated by his family.
