Constanzo "Chris" A. Caccese, 85, of Lewiston, NY passed away on Thursday May 19, 2011. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Giuseppe "Joseph" and Raffaela (SanMartino) Caccese.
Chris was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY. He attended local schools and graduated from the former Trott Vocational High School. During World War II he served in the United States Marines with the U.S.S. Saratoga in the Pacific Theatre. On May 5, 1951 he married Lillian M. (McAllister) Caccese in Niagara Falls, NY. Mrs. Caccese predeceased him on January 7, 2004. He was employed through Sheetmetals Local 69 in Niagara Falls, NY and later with Sheetmetals Local 71 of Buffalo, NY and retired in the early 1980's. Chris was a charter member of the Upper Mountain Volunteer Fire Company in Lewiston, NY.
Mr. Caccese is survived by three children, Christine L. (Richard R.) Corsaro of Pompton Lakes, NJ; Joseph M. Caccese of Lewiston, NY and Ricky (Louise) Caccese of Thomasville, GA; three grandchildren, Richard C. (Adina) Corsaro, Danielle L. (Francis) Nugent and Heather T. Caccese, two step- grandchildren Blair Barrett and Amber (Jeremiah) Johnson, two great-grandchildren James and Ryan Nugent and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two sisters Madeline (late Michael) Sesto, Adeline "Dilly" (late Joseph) Virga and one brother Robert (Bernadine of Rochester, NY) Caccese.
Mr. Caccese's family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the entire staff of the one west wing at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence for the loving compassionate care extended to their father and grandfather.
Friends may call on Sunday from 2 – 6 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will be held on Monday May 23rd at 10 a.m. with Rev. Robert Stolinski officiating. Entombment in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston, NY with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence, 1West Wing, 5285 Lewiston Road, Lewiston, NY 14092.
