Costantino Silvestri, 93, formerly of Niagara Falls and of Grand Island, NY, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2024, at Beechwood Continuing Care in Getzville, NY. Born in Introdacqua, Abruzzo, Italy, he was the son of the late Raffaele and Ines (Centofanti) Silvestri.

Costantino immigrated to the United States, arriving in Niagara Falls, NY, in 1958. He married the love of his life, Ginevra 'Gina' (Ciamacco) Silvestri, on October 24, 1964, at St. Anthony's Church in Hamilton, Ontario. Together, they built a life full of love and devotion.

Costantino worked at National Lead in the early 1960's. He became a member of Laborers' Local #91 in 1967 and served as a Union Lead, holding positions with Scrufari, Elia, Ralph Johnson, and for his longest tenure, at Yarussi Construction, prior to retiring in 1993.  In 2017, he earned his 50-year membership with Laborer's Local #91. Costantino was also a dedicated member and former trustee of the Cristoforo Colombo Society.

Costantino looked forward to spending time with his friends at McDonald's on Pine Avenue and 18th Street in Niagara Falls. He was an avid sports fan, watching Serie A soccer, especially Juventus, the Dallas Cowboys, the Buffalo Sabres, and the New York Yankees, and also enjoyed playing cards. Costantino also loved vacationing in Acapulco, Mexico, but most of all, he cherished the moments with family and friends, and taking great pride in his heritage.

In addition to his wife, Gina, of 60 years, Costantino is survived by his daughter, Nancy (Joseph) Gadawski and was sadly predeceased by his daughter, Lisa (John) Turck. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Joseph Gadawski, Daniel Gadawski, Olivia Turck and Natalie Turck; his brother, Pietro (Nunziata) Silvestri, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and his daughter, he was predeceased by his siblings, Gaetano (Filomena) Silvestri, Clementina (late Antonio) Petrilli and Nunziata Silvestri.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 20 from 3 – 7 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304, where funeral services will begin on Saturday at 9:15 AM, followed by Costantino's Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM on Saturday at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY 14301.  Entombment in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.  In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, https://act.alz.org/.   Visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
