Obituary
Cristina Pardo Portale, 29, of Lewiston, NY passed away unexpectedly, as a result of a motor vehicle accident, on Tuesday December 22, 2009 at Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo, NY. Born in Bogata, Colombia she was the daughter of Martha I. (Torres) Pallone of Lewiston, NY; stepdaughter of Frank A. Pallone, D.D.S of Lewiston, NY and daughter of Alberto Pardo of Bogata Colombia.
Cristina attended high school and university studies in Colombia. She later attended the University at Buffalo where she earned a Bachelor of Arts and then a Masters Degree of Education at Niagara University. She had a passion for teaching and currently taught Spanish at Newfane High School. Prior to that, she taught at Stella Niagara's Montessori pre school, Spanish program. Cristina had a love for the outdoors particularly nature, ecology, and the purity of the earth. Friends and family will remember Cristina as a soft spoken angelic lady who touched everyone she met by her love.
In addition to her parents, Cristina is survived by a son Felippe Portale, one daughter Bianca Portale; and her husband Daniel Portale. She was the sister of Carolina Pardo of Bogota, Colombia; granddaughter of Jose' (late Sophia) Torres of Bogota, Colombia. She is also survived by two aunts and one uncle: Clara Torres, Sophia Torres and Carlos Torres all of Bogata, Colombia and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was the step sister of Frank A. (Kim) Pallone III, Maria (Anthony) Sorosky, Margaret O'Keefe, D.D.S. and the late Anne Pallone McGahan. She was the daughter-in-law of Richard and Donna Portale of Lewiston, NY and sister-in-law of Richard (Victoria) Portale.
Friends may call on Thursday from 3 – 8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. (No visitation on Christmas Day.) Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday December 26th at 9:30 a.m. in St. Peter's Church, 620 Center Street, Lewiston, NY with Rev. Sebastian Pierro officiating. EVERYONE WILL ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment in Colombia.
