Dallas James Wilson, "Willa", went home to be with his Lord and Savior on August 21, 2018 with his loving companion Bea by his side. Born November 21, 1951 in Porter, NY he was the son of the late Dallas M. and Oralle L. Wilson.
He was a member of the Onondoga Eel Clan residing on the Tuscarora Nation. Will attended Niagara Wheatfield High School and NCCC. He was employed as a draftsman at Wetrock and Carborundum Companies. Will was an outstanding athlete and loved sports. He played fast pitch softball for many years in various local leagues and was an avid New York Yankee fan. A highlight playing baseball included a Donkey Baseball game at the Tuscarora Indian Picnic. Will was widely known for his accomplishments playing basketball. He also played in several leagues, often receiving both MVP and high score status several consecutive years. His local community "Clan League Basketball" created an award after him, the "Will Wilson High Score Award" which was awarded to recipients each year in his honor. Will loved music especially Blues and Country. He was especially known for his great sense of humor, jokes and wit with every encounter. He had numerous friends that kept in touch with him on a daily basis. Will was truly an inspiration to all that knew him and will be greatly missed.
Will is survived by his step-children, Rick, Anita, Suzy and Mark, siblings Val (Buster), Dee (Joe), Jan (AJ), Kevin (Suzy), Barry (Sue Ellen), Net, Lance and Mindy as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins that all held a special close rapport with him. He was also predeceased by one brother Joel.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday August 28 th at 3:30 p.m. at Tuscarora Indian Mission 4901 Walmore Road with Pastor Donald Robinson officiating. Arrangements by M.J.
