Daniel F. Ishman, 79, of Lewiston, NY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Niagara Hospice House. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Daniel J. and Irma (Brooks) Ishman; and the beloved wife Susan (Scrivano) Ishman, who he married on December 28, 1985.

Danny was raised in Niagara Falls and graduated from the former Trott Vocational High School. He began his successful and lengthy automotive career working in the collision department at the former Lammert's Cadillac and Buick dealership in Niagara Falls.  He then went into business co-owning Packard Automotive, alongside his best friend, Frank Pawlak. Dan would later retire from Bitterman's Automotive after many years of dedicated service.

An avid outdoorsman, Dan was a longtime member of the LaSalle Sportsman's Club and was an excellent marksman. He loved spending time with his family and friends at his camp in the Southern Tier: hunting, fishing, four wheeling, and enjoying a fine gin and tonic.

Dan was also known as a jack of all trades. If you wanted something fixed or fabricated, he was your man.

In his younger years, he was a standout handball player, being a long time member of the former YMCA in Niagara Falls. He participated in many tournaments and won many awards.

Dan cherished the time playing cards with his family and friends, but above all he centered his life around his wife and three sons, who will miss him dearly.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Ishman is survived by his sons, David, Paul and Darren Ishman; his two sisters, Joanne (late Ralph) Shaghoian and Jeanie (Cosimo) Bonanno; his former wife and mother of his three children, Mary-Claire (Racine) Ishman who he married in 1964, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister, Nancy Faiello.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 30 from 3 -7 PM at M.J. Colucci & Son Niagara Funeral Chapel, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin on Wednesday at 10:00 AM, followed by Daniel's Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Peter's Church, 620 Center Street, Lewiston, NY 14092. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
