Daniel G. McIntyre, 67, died Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Home in Lewiston, NY following a brief illness.
Born on March 30, 1948 to Dudley H. McIntyre (predeceased) and Violet (Milne) McIntyre in Niagara Falls, NY. He was known for his love and devotion to family, strong work ethic, quick wit and generosity. His acts of kindness touched the lives of countless friends and strangers alike.
Dan married Debra L. (Cheetham) McIntyre on August 16, 1969 and together they shared a love and devotion to each other for 46 years. As the father of two sons, Dan served as a source of strength and wisdom.
He began working at Union Carbide in 1967 and worked his way up from a laborer to a foreman at various manufacturing facilities prior to finishing his career as an operations manager with Durez Corporation. Dan was a longtime member of the 3rd Presbyterian Church in North Tonawanda, NY. Dan also enjoyed playing softball, cards, bowling and had a passion for fishing that was so great he would even go on his lunch hour.
In addition to his wife and mother, Dan is survived by his sons Daniel (Julie) McIntyre and Terry (Jackie) McIntyre; siblings, Robert (Joanne) McIntyre, Larry McIntyre and Maureen (Vince) Scalzo; grandchildren, Elisabeth, Kathryn, Derek, Michael, Rachael and Joseph; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be held Monday May 18th from 3 PM to 7 PM at M.J.Colucci& Son Niagara Funeral Chapel, 2730 Military Road,Niagara Falls,NY where funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May19th at 11 AM with Rev. Jeffery Grove, officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr. Lockport, NY 14092.
