Daniel P. Anderson, age 74, passed away at his home on February 24, 2026. He was born on April 27, 1951, in Niagara Falls, New York, the first of Murray and Gertrude Anderson’s four sons.
After graduating from LaSalle Senior High School in 1969, Dan worked in several local factories. A lifelong Pittsburgh Pirates fan, he shared his love of baseball by coaching Little League.
Dan married Yvonne Zito on October 4, 1974, at St. Joseph’s Church in Niagara Falls. Together, they raised two beloved sons, Brett and Matt. A devoted father, Dan never missed his sons’ baseball, bowling, or tennis games. In later years, he became the proud Papa to his grandchildren, Ryker and Avery, who brought him so much joy.
In addition to his parents, Gertrude (Zinzella) and Murray L. Anderson, Dan was predeceased by his brother, Thomas M. Anderson.
He is survived by his wife, Yvonne T. (Zito) Anderson; sons Brett Anderson and Matthew (Jerica) Anderson (NFFD); grandchildren Ryker and Avery Anderson; brothers James M. (Maureen) Anderson and David J. (Sally) Anderson; brothers-in-law Joseph R. (Cheryl) Zito and John D. (Carolyn) Zito; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He will be dearly missed.
There will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are welcome to attend Daniel’s Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, February 28 at 11:00 AM in St. Joseph’s Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY. Inurnment will be held privately in St. Joseph's Cemetery. If desired, memorial offerings may be made to Empower, Inc. at empower-wny.org or the Tunnel to Towers Foundation at t2t.org.
