Daphne Betton, 64, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2026. Born in Niagara Falls, she was the daughter of Lenice (Coates) Betton and the late Roy Betton.

A 1980 graduate of LaSalle Senior High School, Daphne later served the Niagara Falls Board of Education as a Lunch Aide at Cataract Elementary School. In her short time there, she became a bright presence—someone children gravitated toward and colleagues deeply appreciated.

Daphne will be remembered for her authentic spirit, her outgoing nature, and her gift for being the life of the party. She had a remarkable ability to speak life into others, offering heartfelt advice, encouragement, and mentorship. Whether listening without judgment or lifting someone’s spirits with her humor, Daphne made people feel seen, valued, and loved. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family—especially her daughter, son‑in‑law, and beloved granddaughter.

In addition to her mother, Daphne is survived by her daughter, Destiny (Alexander) Gil; her granddaughter, Azariah “Zari” Gil; her siblings, Vanessa Clay, Christopher (Verlinda) Betton, and Diane Betton; her companion, Chris Dennis; her aunt, Lucille Campbell; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

A Celebration of Daphne’s Life will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org.
