David M. Bruno, 49, of the Town of Niagara, NY, passed away on Sunday June 19, 2011 at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of Joseph and Marilyn (Civiletto) Bruno of Hilton Head, SC.
Dave was a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls area. He attended local schools, graduating from Niagara Catholic High School in 1980 and later attended Bowling Green University in Ohio. On September 7, 1991 he married Deanne M. (Panattoni) Bruno at St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Dave was the owner and operator of Dave's Niagara Auto and Radiator in Niagara Falls, NY for the past fifteen years. He was also instrumental in the re-opening of the well known Whistle Pig Restaurant in the Town of Niagara, which he co-owned with his dear friend Tim Shiah. Dave's passion in life was hunting big game, particularly deer and bear. He especially loved being at his cabin in the Southern Tier with his friends, and took great pleasure in mentoring them on hunting. Dave was also a fan of NASCAR racing and loved to cook for his family and friends.
In addition to his wife of nineteen years and parents, Dave is survived by his two children, Danielle Bruno and David Bruno, Jr. both of the Town of Niagara, one sister, Laurri (Dave) Carrier of Victor, NY; one brother Robert (Michele) Bruno of Concord, NC; his nieces and nephews, Robby, Peter, Joey and Katie Carrier; Mariah, Ariana and Bobby Bruno; Michael, Joey and Christopher Dobmeier; his special cousin and hunting partner Frank Manarino as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was the son-in-law of Dennis (Leslie) Panattoni of Niagara Falls, NY and the late Mary Jo Wilson and brother-in-law of Denise and Kevin Dobmeier of Niagara Falls, NY.
Visitation will be on Friday from 4 – 8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday June 25th at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Entombment will be held at the convenience of the family in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.
