David C. Ward, 77, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2026 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Born and raised in Niagara Falls, he was the son of the late Leo and Willie Lee (Sanders) Ward, and the beloved husband of the late Gwendolyn Ward, whom he married on July 19, 1977.

David C. was a proud graduate of Niagara Falls High School and continued his education at Niagara University. In 1970, while attending college, he was drafted into the United States Army. He served honorably and with deep pride during the Vietnam War, later continuing his service in the United States Army National Guard until his retirement. His dedication to his country was matched by his commitment to the Laborers’ Local 91 union where he also retired from.

In his free time, David C. enjoyed playing dominos, solitaire, and shooting pool. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family and friends.

Mr. Ward is survived by his children, Ronald Ward, Brandi (Mannie) Abrams, Breanna Ward; his step-children, Sean Lorraine and Kimberly Lorraine; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his brother, Leo (late Vickie) Ward; his aunt, Melissa Coleman, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his beloved wife, Gwendolyn, who passed on January 8, 2026 and his parents, Leo and Willie, he was predeceased by three siblings, Leola (late Terry) Barksdale, Martha Jean (late Edward) Ross and Clarence (Betty) Ward.
