David Anthony D'Angelis, 18, of North Tonawanda, NY passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Women and Children's Hospital in Buffalo, NY. Born in Buffalo, NY, he was the son of Joseph A. D'Angelis and the late Amy Lee Bernadette (Toarmino) D'Angelis.
David was currently a student at Orleans Niagara BOCES (Niagara Board of Cooperative Educational Services) in Medina, NY. Prior to that, he attended middle school at Orleans Niagara BOCES in North Tonawanda, NY. For over ten years, he has played baseball in the Challenged Athletes Participating in Sports (CAPS) association. He also enjoyed bowling and swimming.
David cherished his countless trips to Home Depot with his Papa and Grandma Toarmino and camping trips in Alleghany with his family. He also loved to bake, especially upside down pineapple cakes. Above all, David was a loving and caring boy who brought joy and happiness to everyone he touched.
In addition to his father, David is survived by his sister Lauren (Anthony) Rick of Lockport, NY; his niece and nephew, Olivia and Hunter Rick; he was predeceased by his brother Christopher D'Angelis and is survived by his maternal grandparents, Leo and Ruth (Wheeler) Toarmino of Niagara Falls, NY. David is also survived by his aunt and uncle, Diana (Lawrence) Vilardo, his cousins Salvatore, Marco and Angelo Vilardo; paternal grandparents, Paul and Nancy D'Angelis; aunt and uncles, Christopher D'Angelis and Paul (Kathy) D'Angelis and cousin, Elizabeth D'Angelis, as well as several other loving aunts, uncles, cousins, caretakers and his numerous friends.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the nurses, doctors and entire staff of Women's and Children's Hospital, especially the staff in the Intensive Care Unit and all of the private care nurses and doctors for their endless care and support. Words cannot express our gratitude for all of the love and support given to David throughout his life.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 25th from 1 – 5 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, January 26th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Vincent De Paul at Prince of Peace Church, 1055 North Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Robert Stolinski officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
