David W. 'Dave' Kinsley Sr. 71 of the Town of Niagara, NY passed away at his home on Thursday March 26, 2009 surrounded by his family while under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Charles and Marion C. (Niedermeyer) Kinsley.
Dave was a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls area. He attended local schools graduating from Niagara Falls High School, and later attended Niagara University in Lewiston, NY. He served in the United States National Guard, and on August 12, 1983, married Ann Marie (Marshall) Kinsley in Niagara Falls, NY. For twenty eight years, he worked as a chemical operator at Occidental Chemical Corporation in Niagara Falls, NY until his retirement in 1999.
David, affectionately known to his friends as 'Bird', was passionate about baseball and avid New York Yankee fan. He excelled as a second baseman for Niagara Falls High School, as well as with the various fast pitch and slow pitch clubs and AAA Leagues he played for throughout his life. In 2001 Dave was honored for his excellence and inducted into the Niagara Falls Baseball Hall of Fame.
In addition to his wife, David is survived by his five children; David W. (Mary C.) Kinsley Jr. of Canton, OH, Kathleen (Harry) Zirna of Clarence, NY, Christopher D. (Christie) Kinsley of Niagara Falls, NY, David C. (Carrie Lyn) Roeser of Niagara Falls, NY and Kristen M. (Darrell) Roeser-Mitchell of Niagara Falls, NY, nine grandchildren; David W. (Katie) Kinsley III, Anthony J. Kinsley, Andrea J. Kinsley, Chelsae Zirna, Jonathan Zirna, Christopher D. Kinsley II, Abigail F. Roeser, Julianna M. Roeser and Erick P. Roeser. Survivors also include aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends may call on Sunday from 4-8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI AND SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL 2730 MILITARY ROAD NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will be held on Monday March 30th at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. William Allegretto CM officiating. Interment will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery Lewiston, NY.
