David T. Sayers, 73 of the Town of Niagara, NY, passed away on March 31, 2017 in Titusville, FL.  Born June 10, 1943 in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Edgar T. and Jennie (Jakubowski) Sayers.

David was a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls area.  He attended Military Road School and graduated from Niagara Wheatfield High School.  He was honored to serve in the United States Air Force from 1964 until his honorable discharge in 1968. During that time, he was stationed in England and Germany, and took great pleasure in experiencing the various people and cultures of Europe. Following his Military Service, David began a career at Occidental Chemical Company in Niagara Falls that span over 30 years.  Following his retirement, David became an RV enthusiast.  He and his wife traveled across the country visiting several national parks as well as many scenic wonders of our country while visiting family and friends along the way.  They ultimately settled in the area of Titusville, FL as snowbirds, and he was fondly referred to by everyone as 'Papa Bear'.

David was a longtime member of St. Vincent De Paul Parish, St. Leo's Church Site. Most important to David was his love for his family. As his children were growing up he spent most of his free time watching youth football and traveling to various swim meets and hockey tournaments.  During the Christmas Holiday, he set up his holiday express train and enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren with it.

David is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Betty J. (DePrey) Sayers, his four children, Karrie A. (Hulbert) Wagoner, David T. (Suzanne) Sayers, II, Kevin J. Sayers and Kenneth E. (Genie) Sayers, seven grandchildren, Katie, Jenna and Ryan Wagoner, Ainsley, Liam, Shae and Colton Sayers as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was also predeceased by a sister, Patricia Walders.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 3 - 7 P.M. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Vincent De Paul Parish at St. Leo's Church 2748 Military Road Niagara Falls, NY.  If desired, memorial offerings may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Parish 1055 North Military Road Niagara Falls, NY 14304 or Hospice of St. Francis, Inc.1250-B Grumman Place Titusville, Florida 32780.
