David Szalach, of Lewiston, NY, passed away peacefully surrounded by his beloved family. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Louis Anthony and Mary Ruth (Stoyanowski) Szalach.
Dave was a graduate of LaSalle Senior High School and obtained his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University at Buffalo. On August 4, 1990, he married the love of his life, Lisa (Thomas) Szalach at St. Teresa's R.C. Church in Niagara Falls.
Dave was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and especially enjoyed tending to his garden, as well as providing a helping hand to anyone in need. Above all, family was everything to David. He was a wonderful husband and father, who always put his family first.
In addition to his wife of 30 years, he is survived by his two children, Jennifer Szalach (Stewart Holden) and Michael Szalach; his siblings, William Anthony (late Rosann) Szalach of Aurora, CO and Mary Lou (Kevin Papendick) Szalach of North Tonawanda, NY; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 2 from 4 – 7 P.M. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin on Thursday at 9:00 A.M., followed by David's Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. in St. Peter's Church, 620 Center Street, Lewiston, NY. Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
