Obituary

David Pattinson Taylor died on May 6, 2011 after a valiant battle with cancer. He was born on May 23rd, 1936 in Niagara Falls, Ontario. He was the son of the late Purnal and Helen (Pattison) Taylor.

David moved to the United States with his family when he was four. He and his family were members of St. Paul's United Methodist church. He attended Niagara Falls schools and was on the swim team in Jr. High and played a variety of brass instruments in the High School Band. In his yearbook he was dubbed the "man with a horn." He attended Niagara University and played the saxophone in the University Orchestra. He served in the US Army from 1955 through 1961. He married Donna Marie Lane in 1961 and moved to the Town of Niagara where they had three children. Employers included Hooker Chemical and Harrison Radiator. After retiring from GM he spent much of his time traveling around New England and camping at the Moose River Campground in Vermont sharing cookouts and bonfires with special friends, including his companion Kay McGoff.

David is survived by his children: Lynn (Drew McElroy) Taylor, Kelly (Victor) Sirianni, and Brian (Julianne Gerlach) Taylor; grandchildren: Victor Jr. and Matthew Sirianni, Camryn Taylor, Anna and Faith McElroy; siblings: Barbara (late Raymond) Arseneau; Helen (late Richard) Russell; companion: Kay McGoff, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Monday from 5 - 8 P.M. at the M.J.COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY RD. NIAGARA FALLS, NEW YORK where Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday May 10th at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org) or a charity of one's choice.
