Deaconess Dru Taylor, 75, of Niagara Falls, NY, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY. Born in Detroit, MI, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Jacqueline (Nichols) Coward.  Raised in Detroit, Dru attended local schools and graduated from high school. She went on to earn her Bachelor's degree in Theology from Tabernacle Seminary in Tampa, FL.

In 1974, Dru married the love of her life, Deacon Joseph O. Taylor, in Buffalo, NY. She was employed by General Motors in Detroit before relocating to the GM plant in Tonawanda, NY, where she worked for over 30 years. Following her retirement, she also served at Community Missions in Niagara Falls.

A devoted member of Potter's House in Niagara Falls, Dru faithfully served as church secretary and Deaconess for many years. She was also a proud member of the Daughters of Zion fellowship. In her free time, she enjoyed being on the computer and indulging in arts and crafts, specifically designing custom coffee tumblers.

Above all, Dru loved her faith deeply and treasured the time spent with her beloved family, especially her grandchildren, who brought her immense joy.

In addition to her husband, Deacon Joseph O. Taylor, she is survived by her children, Steven Coward, Alex Coward, Russell Taylor, Christina Escobar and Angela Taylor; her adored grandchildren, Alex, Ta'Shaya, Christina, Angela, Kenneth, Dorian, Javen, Loundon and Dymond; her siblings, Jan Levertte and Dana Coward, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Derek Coward.
