Obituary

Deborah M. Korzak, 76, of North Tonawanda, NY, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2026, under the loving care of her husband, John, and Niagara Hospice, following a lengthy illness. Born and raised in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Mary (Pullano) Gigliotti; and the beloved wife of John J. Korzak, whom she married on June 3, 1972 at St. Joseph’s Church.

Debbie graduated from Niagara Falls High School and went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree from Niagara University, graduating summa cum laude. For more than 30 years, she served as the Director of Development at Our Lady of Angels Association at Niagara University, where she was admired for her dedication and genuine care.

A devout Catholic, Debbie and her husband were longtime parishioners of St. Mary’s Church, where she also served faithfully as a Eucharistic Minister. She was a past president of the Ladies of Charity at Holy Family Parish, served on the Board of Directors of the Porter Niagara Girls Club, and volunteered generously at the Francis Center and Heart, Love & Soul. Debbie was also an Affiliate of the Congregation of the Mission, the highest honor the community can bestow upon a lay person, and the achievement she regarded as the proudest moment of her professional and spiritual life. Her commitment to service was a defining part of her life, and she touched countless lives through her kindness and compassion.

Debbie enjoyed reading, spending time with her family, and especially cheering on her two sons and her grandchildren at their many sporting events. She will be remembered for her giving spirit, her gentle heart, and the loving, kind hearted soul she shared so freely with everyone she met.

In addition to her husband of 54 years, Debbie is survived by her children, Brian (Pamela) Korzak and Andrew (Jackie) Korzak; five grandchildren, Jacob Korzak, Noah Korzak, Owen Korzak, Adriana Korzak, Brandon Korzak; her siblings, Carol (Noel) Leary and LuAnn (Anthony) Mastrolembo; her sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, David (Theresa) Korzak and Margaret (late Steven) Palka, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and her dear friends, Doug and Judy Clifton.

Debbie’s family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Niagara Hospice—especially Stacy, Christina, and Tawanna, as well as her devoted aide, Patti, for the outstanding care and compassion.

Deborah’s Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, June 13 at 10:00 AM in St. Mary of the Cataract Church, 237 4th Street, Niagara Falls, NY 14303. Entombment will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. Memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice House, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14092 or Our Lady of Angels Association, P.O. Box 1918 Niagara University, NY 14109.
