Deianice "Dejanice" (Castrodale) Rottaris, 84 of Niagara Falls, NY passed away suddenly at home on September 13, 2018.  Born November 7, 1933 in Introdacqua, L'Aquila, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Settimio and Rosinna (Bevilacqua) Castrodale.

Dejanice as she was affectionately known by family and friends was raised and educated in Italy.  She immigrated to Canada with her family in 1951 and later married Alfredo Rottaris in 1954.   Following their marriage, they lived in Detroit, Michigan for a short time before settling in Niagara Falls, NY.  During the 1970's and 1980's Dejanice worked for the Niagara Falls Board of Education food service department. She was a longtime active member of the Cristoforo Columbo Women's Society in Niagara Falls.  Dejanice loved to cook and cherished spending time with her family.  In her leisure time she also enjoyed reading and meeting with her group of dear friends each Tuesday.

In addition to her beloved husband of 64 years, Mrs. Rottaris is survived by two sons Albert (Barbara) Rottaris and John (Robin) Rottaris, two grandchildren, Matthew J. Rottaris and Juliana S. Rottaris, three brothers, Lio (late Lorraine) Castrodale, Filipo (Gloria) Castrodale and Dr. Joseph (Penelope) Castrodale all of Ontario, Canada.  She is also survived by her cousin Rosanna DiRienzo of Rome, Italy whom she had a special relationship with, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins in Canada, Italy and the United States.  Dejanice was the sister-in-law of, Avelia and Placido Matteazzi and late Elodia and Romeo Chiesa.

Visitation will be Sunday from 3-7 p.m. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY RD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday September 17 ^th at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 27 ^th Street and Independence Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH.  Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
