Deloris Paonessa, 84, of Niagara Falls passed away on Tuesday, January 10th, 2017 at O.L.P Nursing Care Residence. Born in Jessie, West Virginia she was the daughter to the late Ernest and Violet Smith.

Deloris married Dominic Paonessa on April 25, 1959 in Niagara Falls and was later predeceased by him on March 6, 2006. She was employed for the N.F. Board of Education for many years until her retirement in 2006.

Mrs. Paonessa enjoyed cooking and tending to her garden. She also loved to sew and knit and was an avid animal lover.

Deloris is survived by her son David (Michele) Paonessa; two grandchildren Gabriele (Michael Anna) Paonessa and Samantha (Russell) Wojtusiak; two great-grandchildren Shade and Ruby June; one sister Loretta; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two siblings Ernest, Jr. and Junita.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 14th from 1 – 2 P.M. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, where funeral services will follow at 2 P.M.
