Dolores C. "Dorie" (Zito) Massaro, 80, of Lewiston, NY died on Thursday, August 4, 2011 at her residence surrounded by her family and while under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late Paul J. and Sara J. (Critelli) Zito.

Dorie, as she was known to everyone, was a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls area. She attended local schools and graduated from Stella Niagara Education Park in Lewiston, NY. On June 21, 1952 she married Frank Massaro at St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Dolores was a member of the Niagara Falls Country Club where she participated in their golf and bridge clubs. She was also a member of the St. Francis Guild, the Niagara Falls Lioness Club and was a dedicated volunteer at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center where she also managed their gift shop. Dorie was an avid golfer and liked traveling and cooking but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband of fifty nine years, Dolores is survived by three children Dominic (Sherry) Massaro of Lewiston, NY; Sharon (Robert) Tasner of North Tonawanda, NY and Dr. Frank (Maureen) Massaro of Webster, NY; nine grandchildren Nicholas, Allie, Dominic, Nicole, Robert, Joseph, Julia, Ava and Adrianna, one sister Carol Lis of Lewiston, NY and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be on Sunday from 2 – 7 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday August 8th at 10:00 AM at St. Peter's Church, 620 Center Street, Lewiston, NY with Rev. Michael Zuffoletto officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Entombment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.
