Dolores H. (Milazzo) Rossi, 82, formerly of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Tuesday January 7, 2014 at Brothers of Mercy in Clarence, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late James Milazzo and Agnes Marie (Scalfani Milazzo Mancuso, and step-daughter of the late Charles Mancuso.
Dolores attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1949. On September 23, 1950 she married Michael A. Rossi at St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Mr. Rossi predeceased her on October 26, 2001. Dolores was a crossing guard at the former St. Teresa of the Infant Jesus School in Niagara Falls. She later worked as a teacher's aide for the Niagara Falls Board of Education at Ferry Avenue School and Harry F. Abate Elementary School. Dolores was a longtime active member of St. Joseph Church, their Ladies of Charity Society and also served as a Lay Eucharistic Minister. She was an avid golfer and bowler and participated in various local leagues. Dolores also enjoyed playing racquetball.
Dolores is survived by three daughters, Rosemarie (Thomas) Riscili of Naples, FL; Agnes (Michael) Zaremski, Sr. of Grand Island, NY and JoAnne (Lou) Piccone of Williamsville, NY; five grandchildren, Stephanie (Brandon) Depp, Michael (Laina) Zaremski, Jr.; Jennifer Riscili, Thomas (Emily) Riscili, Jr. and Jessica Riscili; six great-grandchildren, Madison and Abigal Depp, Ella and Dylan Zarmeski, Trip and Samantha Riscili, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by one sister-in-law, Louise (late Ernest) Fiorucci and one brother-in-law Angelo Rossi.
Visitation will be on Friday from 4 – 8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Saturday January 11th at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY.
